Mission
To combat hunger and poverty by providing food and basic supplies to those in need
Vision
For all people to live in a world that’s free from hunger and poverty
Pillars of Our Work
To generally support the vision of RSFDF for all people to live in a world that is free from hunger and poverty;
To relieve poverty by providing food and other basic supplies to persons of low income by establishing, operating and maintaining food drives, supporting food banks in the community that have charitable status under the Income Tax Act of Canada, and by providing other similar programs to relieve poverty in the community;
To receive and maintain a fund or funds and to apply all or part of the principal and income therefrom, from time to time, to registered charities under the Income Tax Act (Canada).
RSFDF acknowledges that the land we are standing on is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples, and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.
