Fall Food Drive Volunteers

Details of food drive shifts:

1. Wednesdays and Thursdays: volunteers deliver information flyers to residents’ homes informing residents of the food drive and reminding them that RSFDF volunteers will come to their homes the following Saturday and Sunday to pick up their food donations.

2. Saturdays and Sundays: volunteers canvass residents’ homes for food donations and process donations in preparation for delivery to food banks and community organizations. Volunteers will pick up the donations left outside homes.

3. Volunteers work with adult supervisors and always travel in groups. We always meet in a school close to the target area we're canvassing to begin each shift, and we return to that meeting spot for dismissal at the end of the shift.

4. Training and safety orientation will be provided at the beginning of each shift.

5. This is an entry-level volunteer position with the potential for leadership opportunities with RSFDF. Volunteers are encouraged to enhance their personal, leadership and professional goals by participating in the RSFDF Volunteer Certificate Program. Additional information on the program will be provided upon request, and when the food drive begins.

6. We welcome adults and community groups to join us. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

7. Volunteers can come out to as many shifts as they are available. There are no minimum number of hours required.
